The U.S. Embassy in Lebanon was focused with gunfire early on Wednesday, and an attacker was wounded earlier than being arrested, the nation’s military stated.

The embassy stated that no workers had been harmed within the assault and that Lebanese safety forces and the embassy’s safety group had responded to “small-arms fire” close to the doorway of the fortified compound, which overlooks the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

The embassy added in its assertion that the episode was below investigation.

The Lebanese military stated that in response it had deployed troops across the embassy. Safety forces blocked the street resulting in the embassy, the nation’s state information company reported.
