Thanks to visitor columnist Paul Roberts for his bracing, pithy and correct evaluation of the peril we face now and for his constructive concepts about the way to enhance the Local weather Dedication Act [“Don’t repeal WA’s Climate Commitment Act; improve it,” Feb. 14, Opinion].

There isn’t a query about whether or not we transition away from fossil fuels — our very existence requires that we accomplish that. The query is the way to do it with knowledge and justice. We will enhance our transition by offering help to farmers and creating instruments to decrease fuel costs on the pump. I implore voters to coach yourselves concerning the backward-looking Initiative 2117.

A “no” vote is important. Allow us to not repeal our dedication to our local weather however enhance it.
